 ANNUAL ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION!

This celebration consists of making contacts with our youth in the public and private school sectors.  Annually, the district distributes between 750 and 1000 trees to 2nd grade students throughout the county.  Each student receives a tree to plant for future generations to come.  This past Arbor Day was held on December 5th, with students receiving pine trees.  For further information about arbor day, call the office at: (843) 423-1742, Ext. 101

Fletcher M. Johnson, Sr. Environmental Trail

Through a grant from Vulcan Materials Company, the Marion Soil and Water Conservation District with assistance from Pee Dee RC&D has worked to establish an environmental trail in Marion County.  We established an educational facility, providing educational kiosks (soil, water and tree), work stations/lunch tables, native shrubs, and a flower garden along the trail.  The environmental trail was established for Marion County schools and citizens.  Please call the office for additional information.
